Lisa Dalpiaz is vice president of marketing and air service development at the Akron-Canton Airport.
She grew up in Magnolia, and now lives in North Canton with her husband Eric and two children, Emery and Ethan. Dalpiaz loves making a positive impact on the Canton and Akron communities. She also loves the teamwork component of her job.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work in such a dynamic environment, which allows me to continue learning day after day,” Dalpiaz said.
Would you detail the tasks and activities involved with your job at the Akron-Canton Airport?
As the vice president of marketing and air service development, I lead all marcom and air service programs including air service development, branding, advertising, media relations and communications. Other primary responsibilities include government and community affairs for the airport.
What drew you to this job?
What initially attracted me to the airport was the challenge of learning a new industry and the talented, close-knit CAK team.
That hasn’t changed one bit, but what I’ve come to appreciate, and value is the ability to make a positive impact on the Akron-Canton community through air service; each and every flight helps our community retain and attract residents through a better quality of life and business opportunities.
What has been your educational and career paths to this job?
I graduated Kent State University with a bachelor of science degree in public relations.
From there, I landed in the agency world, which allowed me to sharpen my skillset in a variety of areas such as online marketing, copywriting and management. Additionally, I have participated on a local, state and national level on various committees and boards to expand my knowledge and give back to the communities in which I’m part of.
Do you like flying and if so, where is the favorite location you like to visit most often?
I love flying. My husband and I enjoy IndyCar racing so we often plan travel around new races and exciting courses, most recently to Nashville, Tennessee, and Austin, Texas.
While we enjoy discovering new places, one of our favorite destinations to frequent is Chicago. United Airlines offers a quick nonstop flight from CAK which lends to a perfect weekend getaway.
What are two of your favorite things about the Akron Canton Airport?
There are so many things to love about the Akron-Canton Airport, but if I had to pick my favorite two, they would be the CAK Hug Zone and the travelers.
Our Hug Zone is a special place you’ll find family and friends reunited. Whether a military troop is returning home or little kids are visiting grandma and grandpa, you see so much love and joy in those moments. That’s why our four newest nonstop routes are so important (Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Tampa and New Orleans) because there are so many families that are now able to quickly and affordably reconnect in person again.
